This year's Seminar wasdedicated to human rights in crisis situations.Brepresentatives of member states and the Secretariat of the Council of Europe, the European Court of Human Rights, the United Nations, the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights and academic institutionathey consideredhow to human rights boile protectione during various unresolved challenges and crises.
Based on the pandemic experienceCovid-19, a proposal was put forward for states to adopt laws and institutional solutions so that emergency measures taken in crisis situations that affect human rights are in accordance with the principles of proportionality and necessity.
The Warsaw Seminar on Human Rights is an international forum for debate and exchange of experiences on topics related to the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms and the jurisprudence of the European Court of Human Rights. Each event in the series helps spread human rights protection standards and inspires activities that advance respect for these standards.
The representative of the Republic of Serbia before the European Court of Human Rights, Zorana Jadrijević Mladar, also attended the seminar.
